The building of Charles H.’s law firm in Champaign, IL appeared to be sinking. On the outside of the building, there were areas where the lower part of the brick walls had completed separated from the upper part by over an inch. Charles didn’t want the problems to get worse so he called Woods Basement systems. Design Specialist Kevin E. recognized the telltale signs of foundation settlement and gave Charles the solution.
Woods installed the Push Pier System along the concrete footing of the structure. Steel pier sections are hydraulically driven through foundation brackets and deep below the home and into more stable soil or bedrock. They stabilize foundations so they won’t settle any further and in most cases, they can lift the structure back to its original level position.
Charles H. is happy knowing his law firm is stable and sound.
Kenneth and Paula M. had a very leaky basement in the Champaign, IL home. Water came in through their brick walls and foundation floors. It had caused considerable water damage to the walls and floors and provided the perfect environment for mold to grow. Kenneth and Paula finally had it with the mess so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Greg B. inspected the inside and outside of the basement and found the best solution would be a waterproofing system.
Over the dingy, water damaged walls, Woods installed BrightWall wall panels. BrightWall panels are made out of sturdy, white plastic. They create vapor barrier that prevents water vapor and moisture from entering the basement. They are also completely waterproof and work with the waterproofing system by directing water to the perimeter drainage system. WaterGuard was installed under the concrete floors of the basement, along the walls. It is a drainage system that is situated in a way that it won’t be clogged by mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors of the basement and drains it to the sump pump.
The TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed to take the water collected by the WaterGuard and pump it out of the basement through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains three pumps: a primary pump, a more powerful secondary pump and a battery back up pump. If the primary pump fails or isn’t keeping up with the rising water, the secondary pump will kick in to ensure the basement remains dry. If there’s a power outage, the battery back up pump will keep pumping water pumping out of the basement.
IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. IceGuards have slotted openings prevent water from coming back into the basement if the discharge lines become frozen during the winter months.
Kenneth and Paula M. are ecstatic that they can finally use their basement again without worries of water damage.
Linda and Peter G. had major water issues in the partially finished basement of their Gifford, IL home. The belongings they stored in their basement were repeatedly getting water damage whenever it rained. The TripleSafe ensures that, even in bad weather or a power outage, water will continue to be pumped out and away from the basement through the discharge lines. On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. The IceGuards prevent water from coming back into the basement if the lines become frozen or clogged by allowing it to escape through slotted openings.
Linda and Peter G. are thrilled they won’t have to clean up messes anymore because their basement will stay dry even when it’s storming.
Larry P. had water leaking into his basement. He thought he’d already dealt with his water problem with a waterproofing system installed by a different company but it wasn’t keeping up with the amount of water coming in and didn’t cover the entire perimeter of the basement so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Quinton W. inspected Larry’s basement and recommended installing a waterproofing system that would give the entire basement coverage against leaks.
Woods installed WaterGuard along the perimeter of the basement where there was previously no waterproofing in place and tied it in to the existing system. WaterGuard is a drainage system that is installed under the floors of the basement, on top of the concrete footing of the home, so it is situated away from any mud that may clog it while it collects water coming in through the foundation walls and wall joints and drains it away to the sump pump for removal.
The Twin Pack Sump System was installed. It contains two powerful, cast-iron pumps that will ensure that no matter how bad the weather gets, water will remain pumping out of the basement through the discharge lines. Larry also opted to add the UltraSump battery back up pump. The UltraSump adds even more protection because it is battery operated and will come on immediately if the power goes out. It can removed up to 11,000 gallons on a fully charged battery and will charge itself when the power comes back on.
On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. IceGuard have slotted openings that allow water to escape if the discharge lines become frozen or clogged, preventing it from coming back into the basement.
Larry P. has peace of mind that his basement is now fully protected from unwanted water and will remain dry and livable.
yler C. of Pesotum, IL had major water problems in his basement and crawlspace. Water would flood into his basement every time there was a hard rain and had caused major water damage to the concrete walls and floors of the basement. The old sump pump in an open pit and waterproofing system he had in place did little to nothing to keep the water out.The crawlspace turned into a muddy mess with each rain and there was water damage on the walls. Tyler was fed up with rain making his crawlspace unusable and his basement a complete mess so he called Woods Basement Systems for a free, no obligation estimate. Design Specialist Kevin E. inspected the crawlspace and basement and found that the best solution would be a crawlspace encapsulation system and basement waterproofing system.
Along the walls and floors of the crawlspace, CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed. CleanSpace is a thick, durable plastic liner that prevents water from entering the crawlspace and directs it to the drainage system. SmartPipe was installed along the perimeter of the crawlspace. SmartPipe is a drainage system that has multiple rows of holes covered in special filter fabric so it won’t become clogged with mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors of the crawlspace. It drains the water away to the sump pump.
The SmartSump was installed because it is specifically designed for encapsulated crawlspaces. It works with the CleanSpace so it forms an airtight seal. It contains a powerful, cast-iron pump that pumps any encroaching water out and away from the crawlspace.
In the basement, WaterGuard was installed along the perimeter, under the concrete floors. WaterGuard is a drainage system that sits on top of the concrete footing of the basement so it will remain free from mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it away to the sump pump for removal.
The TripleSafe sump pump system was installed to accept the water from the WaterGuard and pump it outside through the discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains a primary, secondary and battery back up pump to ensure that, even in severe weather and power outages, the basement will remain dry.
The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed. The SaniDry prevents mold growth and moldy smells by removing up to 109 pints of water per day from the air, keeping relative humidity low in the basement and crawlspace.
On the discharge lines for the sump pumps, IceGuards were installed. IceGuards prevent water from coming back into the basement if the lines become frozen during winter months. They have slotted openings that provides the water an alternative escape route.
Tyler C. is thrilled he can use his crawlspace for storage, knowing his belongings will stay dry, and he’s relieved that he won’t ever have to clean up watery messes from bad weather again.
Nicole H. of Savoy, IL had foundation walls that were cracking and bowing inward. They were ruining the beautiful finished drywall that was over them by causing it to crack and buckle as well. Nicole had tried patching the cracks in the past but new ones would always form so she called Woods Basement Systems to address the underlying problem. Design Specialist Kevin E. inspected the walls and recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors permanently stabilize foundation walls by counteracting the external soil pressure on them. Earth anchors are embedded in more stable soil in the yard and then anchor rods are driven through the foundation walls and connected to the earth anchors and steel wall plates on the inside of the walls. The anchors are tightened to firmly hold the wall in position and prevent any further damage. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors can also straighten the walls over time by tightening them during dry conditions.
Nicole H. had peace of mind that her walls are secure and won’t be damaged any further.
John and Gail S. of Champaign, IL had severely bowing brick walls in their basement. Raymond was tired of cleaning up the mess so he called Woods Basement Systems for a free inspection. Design Specialist Christoph H. assessed the basement and found the best solution would be a waterproofing system.
Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard sits on top of the concrete footing of the home so it’s out of the way of mud that might clog it as it collects intruding water from the foundation walls and floors of the basement and then drains it to the sump pump.
The TripleSafe was installed to take the water collected by the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement through the discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains three pumps: a primary, a secondary, and a battery back up pump. It provides multiple levels of protection flood waters during severe weather and power outages.
IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. IceGuards have slotted openings designed to allow water to escape into the yard if the lines become frozen during cold winter months, preventing the water from getting back into the basement.
Raymond B. is relieved that he won’t have to clean up messes every time the forecast calls for rain because his basement will stay dry.
Tom L. of Saint Charles, MO had cracks in his foundation walls. The cracked stretched across the walls and had allowed an alarming about of water to get into his partially finished basement so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Adam R. assessed the basement and recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors as well as a basement waterproofing system.
Woods installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors by driving galvanized steel anchor rods through the cracked foundation walls and attaching them to steel earth anchors embedded in stable soil conditions in the yard. Steel wall plates are connected to the anchor rods on the inside of the wall and the components are tightened to permanently stabilize the walls in place and prevent future damage.
The WaterGuard drainage system was installed under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. Other drainage systems are installed along the footing of the home or on the exterior of the foundation and are notorious for becoming clogged by mud and debris. WaterGuard is installed on top of the concrete footing to prevent it from clogging as it collects encroaching water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.
The Twin Pack was installed to accept the water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The Twin Pack contains a primary and secondary pump so it can keep the basement dry in light drizzles and heavy downpours.
On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. If the discharge lines become frozen during cold winter months, IceGuards have slotted openings to give water an alternative escape route into the yard so it doesn’t come back into the basement.
Tom L. has piece of the mind now because his foundation walls are safe and secure and his partially basement will remain dry.
Janice E. of Philo, IL had a sump pump installed by another company in her crawl space. She thought that was the end of her water problem but water kept getting into the crawl space during heavy downpours through her foundation walls and made the space unusable. The store-bought dehumidifier she had in her crawl space did little to nothing to keep relative humidity low which had started to cause the floor joists to rot so she called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Greg B. inspected Janice’s crawl space and found the best solution for the water problem would be an encapsulation system.
Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation walls and gravel floors of the crawl space. CleanSpace is a thick, durable, mold resistant moisture barrier that prevents water from entering the crawl space, instead directing it to the drainage system below.
Drainage matting was installed under the CleanSpace on the gravel floors of the crawl space. Drainage matting has a dimpled design that provides channels for standing water to disperse to the drainage system.
Woods installed the SmartPipe drainage system along the perimeter of the crawl space. SmartPipe has multiple rows of channel holes covered in filter fabric to keep it free from debris as it collects water from the foundation walls and gravel floors of the crawl space and drains it to the sump pump.
Woods replaced the old, non-functioning sump pump with the SmartSump. The SmartSump was designed to form an airtight seal with the CleanSpace. It contains a powerful cast-iron pump that takes the intruding water and expels it out and away from the crawlspace through the discharge line.
On the exterior of the home, an IceGuard was installed on the discharge line. The IceGuard will prevent water from backing up into the home if the discharge line becomes frozen or clogged by snow during winter months. The perforations in the IceGuard gives water an escape route into the yard.
The store-bought dehumidifier was replaced with two SaniDry dehumidifiers. The SaniDrys are as energy efficient as the store-bought unit but are more powerful. Each can remove up to 109 pints of water from crawlspace air per day. They keep the relative humidity low to prevent rot, mold growth and musty smells.
Janice E. is relieved that she no longer has a water problem in her crawl space and she can now use it for storage.

Robert P. of Fisher, IL was noticing cracks throughout his home. There was one across his ceiling that he’d tried painting over but it reopened over time. There were cracks at the edges of doorways and gaps above the doors that were causing the door to jam. His floors were also sagging. Robert was worried that there might be bigger problems responsible for these issues so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Greg B. Inspected the foundation and crawl space and found that the home was experiencing settling and the best solution would be Push Piers and SmartJacks.
The cracks on the inside of the home were due to foundation settlement so Woods installed Push Piers. Steel brackets are put in placed along the concrete footing of the home and they high-strength steel pier sections are hydraulically driven down to stable soil conditions or bedrock below the home. They are then secured to the footing which transfers the weight of the home from the unstable soil responsible for the settlement through the Push Piers to the competent, load-bearing strata below. They permanently stabilize the foundation and can also lift the home back to level in most cases.
Settling columns were responsible for the uneven, sagging floors so Woods added steel beams for extra support under the girders holding up the floors and then installed SmartJacks along the beams. SmartJacks are adjustable steel columns that are custom fit to the height of the crawl space and held firmly in place by a high-strength aluminum footing that sits on a base of compacted stone. The system won’t settle or rust and, because it’s adjustable, it can lift floors back to level position.
Robert P. has peace of mind that his home is secure because his foundation is stable and his floors are supported and level.

To protect Jennie's home, Greg recommended installing waterproofing materials into the crawl space to prevent any further damage.
The optimal waterproofing products for the crawl space were a CleanSpace encapsulation system, along with a SmartSump. A CleanSpace encapsulation system is an inorganic vapor barrier that completely seals the crawl space from water, mold, and debris. While a SmartSump is a sump pump that is specifically designed for a crawl space. These pumps are dependable and efficient which is crucial since the crawl space isn't an area homeowners would often check!
Foreman, James L., and his crew installed these new products into Jennie's crawl space right away. Jennie was impressed by the work of Team Woods and was thankful that she didn't have to worry about the condition of her crawl any longer.

Homeowners Michael and Debbie were tired of their basement constantly flooding during periods of heavy rain. All too often, their space would be filled with over an inch of water, ruining clothing and other possessions. All of this made their basement almost unusable for anything other than a junk room.
Tyler S., Woods Basement Systems foreman, and his team put in place several patented waterproofing measures to make sure that the basement would stay dry no matter what. The first of these was the WaterGuard system, installed underneath the concrete where the floor meets the wall. This piping system collects any and all water that comes down the walls or through the floor and keeps it out of the living space. It then directs that water to the other product that was installed, the TwinPak sump pump. The TwinPak comes equipped with two pumps: one that normally does the bulk of the work and a second pump that kicks on if the first manages to get overwhelmed.
With these new products installed in their basement, Michael and Debbie will never need to worry about flooding again!
Valerie S. of Centralia, Il had a huge problem with water in her basement storage room. During heavy rains, water would pour out of cracks in the walls and where the wall meets the floor. It was not uncommon for several inches to find their way in, leaving standing puddles behind. Valerie contacted Woods Basement Systems to resolve the issue and make her storage room fully usable again.
Foreman Greg H. and his team got to work totally waterproofing the space. The first step was to encapsulate the storage room walls with a CleanSpace system. This inorganic liner attaches to the surface of the walls and prevents any moisture from getting into the area itself. After this, the WaterGuard system was installed under the floors at the base of the walls. This system collects any water coming from the walls and floors and pipes it away, keeping the floors dry. Next, a TripleSafe sump pump was put in place to take all of the water collected by the WaterGuard system and pump it out of the house. Finally, a Sanidry dehumidifier was installed to keep the air dry and prevent any kind of mold growth.
Thanks to the work of Woods Basement Systems, Valerie's storage room went from a dank, wet eyesore to a bone-dry, clean, and functional space!
Savoy, Illinois homeowner Colin noticed that water would pool in his dirt-floor crawl space during periods of rain. All of this water led to excess moisture in the home's air, causing mold growth in the attic. Wanting this problem solved quickly and professionally, Colin called Woods Basement Systems.
Brett Jones, foreman, and his team installed several products to remedy all of the moisture issues in the crawl space. The first item to be put in place was a CleanSpace encapsulation system. This inorganic material is installed over the dirt floor and totally seals the crawl space itself off from the elements, preventing any sort of mold growth, and giving the area a nice, clean look. Next up was the StartSump crawl space pump, designed to pipe away any and all water that is present on either side of the CleanSpace liner. The final improvement installed was a SaniDry dehumidifier. This patented product keeps the air in the crawl space, and subsequently the rest of the home, bone dry. All of these items together made the space bone dry!
Urbana, Illinois homeowner Michael D. noticed that after heavy rains, water would run down several cracks in his basement walls and pool on the floor. Although Michael had an adequate, exisiting sump pump, the water had no way to reach it and it went completely unused.
Greg B., Woods Basement Systems design specialist, visited the home and worked with Michael to come up with a solution that fit all of his needs, and a Woods team arrived soon after to begin the waterproofing process. In order to make use of the exisiting sump pump, WaterGuard was installed undearth the floors at the base of the walls. This drain system catches any and all water that comes down the walls or up from the floors and directs it toward the sump. With this in place, the water now had a place to go and the basement remained dry!
Champaign, Illinois homeowner Brittany was tired of her leaking basement. Whenever it rained, water would stream out of cracks in her walls and onto the basement floor, rendering the space effectively unusable. Wanting to solve the problem once and for all, Brittany called Woods Basement Systems.
Foreman Greg H. and his team installed several waterproofing measures to keep Brittany's basement dry. First, WaterGuard, a gutter-like drainage system, was put in place under the floors at the base of the walls. This catches any and all water coming down the walls and keeps it out of the space. After this, a new TripleSafe sump pump was installed. This sump system comes equipped with three seperate pumps, one of which is a battery backup capable of pumping out over 10,000 gallons of water per hour. With these products installed, Brittany's basement is now completely dry!

Soon after, a Woods team, led by foreman Justin, arrived at the home and began waterproofing the basement. They began by installing WaterGuard, a drainage system that is placed under the floor at the base of the walls to catch leaks. After this, a TripleSafe sump pump was put in place to pipe out any water collected by the WaterGuard system. Finally, IceGuard was put over the discharge line on the outside of the home to prevent freezing. Leslie and Martin no longer have to worry about water in their basement!
Usually, this homeowner would only worry about her basement during the rainstorms, but this winter she noticed water leaks had seeped in through her walls. Why? The temperature had risen enough so that the snow had melted and turned into water. That's when Gina from Urbana, Illinois reached out to Woods Basement Systems to schedule an appointment.
Woods' system design specialist, Luke B., worked with Gina to find a solution to prevent water leaks from harming the safety of her home. Luke recommended utilizing WaterGuard drains around the basement to collect and direct the water towards the basement sump pump. From there the sump pump would be able to pump the water out of the home and back outside where it belonged. Head foreman, Logan B., worked with his team to install these drains quickly and correctly. WaterGuards drains completed the waterproofing project and ensured that Gina would be able to use her basement again!

Woods Basement Systems sent system design specialist, Brian S., to the home to look over the basement and design a customized plan that would meet all of Maggie's requests. In this plan, Brian recommended installing EverLast wall panels with an updated flooring called ThermalDry.
EverLast wall panels are installed to create a vapor barrier that will keep out water leaks. These panels will not develop mold or damage which makes them the perfect protection for the basement walls. On the floors, ThermalDry tiles will be installed on the floor. These tiles are water-resistant and are made out of inorganic material to ensure water wouldn't damage the floors. These products were installed by head foreman, Frank U., and his team of installers. Thanks to the combined effort of Team Woods, this project ended in a success!
Champaign, Illinois homeowner Laura B. was sick and tired of dealing with water in her basement. Whenever it rained heavily, water would come out of cracks in the walls and pool on the floor. Cameron M. of Champaign, IL scheduled a routine maintenance check for his sump pump system.
When Clay L. came to perform the maintenance, he also checked the Radon levels in the home. Radon is a gas that rises from the ground beneath a house and can cause health problems for the residents if not properly mitigated.
Clay L. was able to ensure that the home was in safe condition from Radon and that the sump pump systems were cleaned and working, all in one visit!
Lura J. from Mahomet, IL had chosen to incapsulate her dirt crawlspace and help her home stay dry and mold-free. She also installed a dehumidifier to help dry the air. But this dehumidifier was not as good as she had hoped.
It was time to upgrade to the Sedona from Woods Basement Systems. The Sedona is a powerful dehumidifier that can filter up to 12.5 gallons of water from the air per day! Not only does it dry the crawlspace, but it also filters the air to remove mold spores and other airborn particles, making the air smell and feel cleaner.
Lura J. improved on her incapsulated crawlspace by upgrading to a better dehumidifier - the Sedona.
Mary M. had dangerously rising levels of Radon gas in her home in Urbana, IL. This Radon gas is an invisible and odorless gas that is naturally formed beneath houses and can rise into the home from below.
Buildup of Radon gas can be dangerous as Radon is the highest leading cause of lung cancer behind cigarettes. As there is no way to eliminate Radon at the source, Mary instead needed a system to direct the gas outside of her home.
Foreman Cory S. was able to install a Radon mitigation system that sihponed the Radon gas below the home and directed it above the home, where it could safely dissipate without harming anyone.
With the help of a Radon mitigation system, Mary M. won't need to worry about Radon building up in her home and threatening her health.
Homeowner Clella S. of Champaign, Illinois had noticed water entering her crawl space through the concrete cinder block walls. After some research, she had learned that each block has hollow cavities, and when the blocks are stacked on top of each other, they form a big honeycomb of air spaces. Not wanting outside air or water in her crawl space, she decided to call Woods Basement Systems.
We sent our foremen Michael Rebenstorff and his team out to Clella's Champaign home to permanently seal her crawl space from the outside air. Our team installed out CleanSpace Liner, sealed around obstructions and at the seams by special tapes and sealants. Allowing Clella to use her crawl space for storage after insulation- something this homeowner could never consider in her previous crawl space. Now Clella can enjoy cleaner air with a sealed, clean crawl space.
In Edwardsville, Illinois homeowners William and Angela M. decided to finally waterproof their basement after many years of built up water damage. William and Angela are happy they decided to call Woods Basement Systems.
Homeowner Laura C. of Chesterfield, MO. scheduled a maintenace inspection on her sump pump system with Woods Basement Systems. John L. went out to look at the system and make sure everything was working well.
While he was there, John noticed that, even though the sump pump system was eliminating water leaks, the air still seemed damp and uncomfortable. He recommended the Sedona air dehumidifier. With the ability to remove up to 100 pints of moisture from the air in a single day, the Sedona would make short work of the damp air in this basement. On top of removing the moisture from the air, the Sedona would also filter the air, removing tiny particles like mold spores or dust mite droppings. Now the air would feel dry and comfortable while also preventing the spread of mold and allergens.
Laura C. was able to upgrade her home with a Sedona dehumidifier during a maintenance inspection to keep her basement air as dry as her basement floors.
This large basement in Waterloo, IL. had waterproofing systems in place like a sump pump and waterproof liners on the walls. These systems couldn't keep the air dry, however.
That's why homeowner Roger Z. turned to Mike B. from Woods Basement Systems to install a Sedona dehumidifier. The large space of the basement proved to be too much for the small dehumidifier Roger had, but wouldn't be a challenge for the Sedona. With the power to remove more than 12 gallons of moisture from the air, the Sedona can dry even large, open spaces like this. And because the Sedona drains the moisture it collects into the sump pump system, there's no buckets to empty and no shutting off because the dehumidifier is full. The Sedona will also filter the air from mold spores and dust mites while it's drying the air too.
This large basement space can now be used comfortably as the air is dried by the Sedona dehumidifier.
In Urbana, Illinois homeowner Tom C. was worried about the wooden support beams in his crawl space. After taking a look at the space the day after a storm, Tom saw that the crawl space was damp and his problem would only become worse as time goes on. He decided to call Woods Basement Systems to find a solution to support his crawl space and his home.
Our foremen Michael Rebenstorff and his team had the perfect solution to support Tom's home, without using wood or concrete blocks. Our team installed our patented SmartJacks. SmartJacks are steel support systems used to permanently stabilize and level girders and floor joists in a crawl space. Fixing the sagging floor in Tom’s home above the crawl space and stabilizing his home for years to come. Tom will no longer have to worry about his home being unstable and unsupported.
In Saint Louis, Missouri homeowner Max D. was concerned about the foundation of his home. Recently, Max noticed small and large cracks on the inside and outside of his home. Finding small hairline cracks inside of his home near doors and windows as well as larger cracks outside the home and on the walls of the basement. Knowing these were signs of foundation settlement and decided to call Woods Basement Systems to find a solution to help support his home’s foundation and to stop anymore cracks from forming or becoming larger.
Our foremen Jose Lorenzana and his team were sent out to the Max’s home to install the perfect solution to his problem, Push Piers. Our Push Piers are made of steel, made to permanently stabilize your homes foundation. Creating the best opportunity to lift the home back up to its original position. Now, Max can rest easy knowing his foundation is supported and strong.
Lorri T. of Petersburg, IL. noticed a gap appearing in the arch by the front of her home. This gap was caused by uneven foundation settling. One side of the home was settling further into the ground than the other side, causing the home to be uneven. This uneven support caused the archway to crack and seperate from the rest of the home.
Fortunately, Lorri recognized this early sign of foundation settling and called Woods Basement Systems. Expert Jose L. was able to create and enact a plan to permanently support the home. The plan called for push piers to be installed along the vulnerable parts of the home.
These push piers would be attached to the footing with a brace and pushed deep into the ground. The piers would transfer the weight of the home down to a stable soil layer or bedrock, past the troublesome, settling soil. This will permanently stabilize the home and prevent future settling.
With a warranty that will last the life of the house, Lorri T. won't need to worry about the home settling any more thanks to the push pier system Jose installed.
Uninsulated crawlspaces can increase the energy costs of the home substantially. Crawlspaces will allow unconditioned outside air to enter below the home. This outside air will then rise through the home and make the living spaces less comfortable.
Many crawlspaces can't be insulated properly because they are not protected from water leaks and vapor, but those that are should be insulated. Insulating the crawlspace includes blocking any windows and adding insulation to the gaps between the floor joists that make up the ceiling of the crawlspace.
Usually, spray foam insulation is used in these areas as it is difficult to shape other forms of insulation to the space. In this home in Urbana, IL. sealed blocks of insulation are installed and spray foam is used as a supplement to block the cracks and offer total insulation.
Once the crawlspace is totally insulated, uncomfortable outside air won't be able to enter the home from below. This will help save the homeowner on energy costs related to heating and cooling their home, making the cost of insulating a small investment with huge payoffs.
Basement windows endure a lot of hardships. Being close to the ground, these windows will frequently get dirty and wet and the wooden frames around the window are subject to rot and mold as is the paint around the window panes. These windows are easily damaged by the tough conditions they face.
The basement windows in this house in Frohna, MO. are in need of replacement as they have been worn out by the tough conditions near the ground. Water can leak in through the gaps and the wood has begun to crack as the paint chips. If left unchecked, these windows might start growing rotten or moldy. Damage to the structure around the window can also compromise the glass panes and can drastically decrease the energy efficiency of the home as unconditioned, outside air seaps inside.
Fortunately, there is a basement window built equal to the task. The EverLast™ window is a double-paned and durable window designed to be close to the ground. The two panes increase the energy efficiency of the window, making the home easier to keep warm or cool. The frame around the window is made of vinyl which will never need painting and, since it's an inorganic material, is totally mold-resistant. These windows will last, even in the tough conditions near the ground - and look good while they're at it.
The EverLast™ windows will never grow moldy or rotten and will improve the home's energy efficiency, all while enduring the tough conditions that basement windows face.

A crawl space that’s damp and dirty is more than just an eyesore. It causes health, safety, comfort and home resale problems. This happens because a damp, dirty crawl space creates a favorable environment for mold, mildew, wood rot, insects and animal pests. Who wants these difficulties right below a home’s living space?
The good news is that a nasty crawl space can be transformed into a clean, dry, attractive and energy efficient space using the CleanSpace encapsulation system.
One of the key ingredients in our encapsulation system is the CleanSpace vapor barrier, a super-durable, 20mil plastic sheet material designed to permanently prevent moisture, outside air and pests from getting into your crawl space. Your crawl space technician will install CleanSpace® poly over the foundation walls and floor to create a continuous air and moisture barrier.
