Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab, then the PolyLevel polymer is poured into the holes. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on. This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive and arguably more effective than mud jacking which is the procedure PolyLevel replaces. To removed tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling estimate contact us today!

Insulating a Crawlspace

Uninsulated crawlspaces can increase the energy costs of the home substantially. Crawlspaces will allow unconditioned outside air to enter below the home. This outside air will then rise through the home and make the living spaces less comfortable.

Many crawlspaces can't be insulated properly because they are not protected from water leaks and vapor, but those that are should be insulated. Insulating the crawlspace includes blocking any windows and adding insulation to the gaps between the floor joists that make up the ceiling of the crawlspace.

Usually, spray foam insulation is used in these areas as it is difficult to shape other forms of insulation to the space. In this home in Urbana, IL. sealed blocks of insulation are installed and spray foam is used as a supplement to block the cracks and offer total insulation.

Once the crawlspace is totally insulated, uncomfortable outside air won't be able to enter the home from below. This will help save the homeowner on energy costs related to heating and cooling their home, making the cost of insulating a small investment with huge payoffs.

To correct the bowing walls, Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed. Geo-Lock straightens the walls over time and provides support for the foundation. Foreman Jose L. also installed PolyLEVEL. PolyLEVEL lifts and levels concrete, so it is a long-lasting solution to the uneven driveway.

With PolyLEVEL, Push Piers and Geo-Lock, John's foundation is restored and his home is safe.

CleanSpace Installed in Urbana, IL

Ray T. in Urbana, IL had climate control issues in his crawlspace. Wanting to reduce his energy bills, Ray called Woods Basement Systems to find a solution.

Woods installed CleanSpace to seal off the space and prevent water and moisture from getting in. This would reduce the amount of humidity in the space. A drainage mat was installed under the CleanSpace to drain away any unwanted water that may be standing in the crawlspace.

A SaniDry was installed to filter moisture out of the air in the crawlspace. A SaniDry is a dehumidifier for the space and will help control the humidity. Controlling the humidity of the crawlspace will reduce energy bills and make the home more comfortable because the air that is moving into the house is more controlled.

A TripleSafe sump pump was installed to evacuate unwanted water. The sump pump will pump the water out through a discharge line that leads the water to the yard. This line can become clogged or frozen at times, in order to prevent the water from receding back into the crawlspace, Woods installed IceGuard. IceGuard is installed on the discharge line next to the house and allows water to escape through it when it is necessary.

Woods also installed vent covers for additional sealing. These products work together to keep moisture out of the crawl space.

One exterior wall in the basement of our 100+ year old home are showing signs of moisture. Additionally, we'd like to have someone evaluate whether the French drain system and gutter system we currently have are doing their job effectively. The priority is noise reduction, two issues are of particular concern: (1) poorly installed sump pump cover creates vibrations and noise, (2) legacy pipework results in rattling pipes and gushing water noises in upstairs bedrooms. Secondary concerns include fixing minor cracks in wall, potential repainting and drop floor insulation
