Effective Concrete Leveling & Concrete Sealing

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Job Stories From Clay County, IL
Stabilizing Basement Walls in Worden

Brian was concerned his basement wall might cave in without notice. The home he bought 2 years ago was actually moved in the 1940s, which meant his basement walls were part block and part poured concrete.  Block walls are hollow inside and can fill up with water, and his walls were leaking at the transition between the two foundation types.  The hydrostatic pressure being exerted on the walls had cracked one of the walls in the block section, and the wall was bowing.

Brian hired Woods Basement Systems to install 7 Geo-Lock wall anchors to stabilize the wall and protect against further bowing.  The crew installed earth anchors further beyond the fill soil that was immediately surrounding the home. Driving threaded steel rods through small holes in the basement wall, the crew attached large wall anchors plates to the steel rods and torqued the anchors to tighten the system. Now, Brian's wall is stable and he never has to worry about it caving in.

The couple were tired of having to constantly clean the space, so they finally decided to give Woods Basement Systems a call.

In order to waterproof the basement, foreman Greg and his team installed a WaterGuard drainage system. These gutter-like drains are placed underneath the floor at the base of the leaking walls to catch any and all water and prevent it from reaching the space itself. Tracy and Robert's basement is now protected from leaks and they couldn't be happier!

Water Leak Filled Clay City, IL Basement Protected with WaterGuard Drains

Vickie, a homeowner from Clay City, Illinois, reached out to Woods Basement Systems to waterproof her basement and keep it safe. Team Woods sent system design specialist, Luke K., to the house to see what product would ultimately waterproof the space. Upon inspection, Luke recommended installing a WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of the basement to collect and keep out water.

Foreman, Greg H., and his crew of installers put the new French drainage system in place. WaterGuard drains are installed into the footing of the basement walls to stop water leaks at the source and guide them towards the home' sump pump system. With the help of WaterGuard, this basement will remain clean and protect for many more years to come.

Drying the Air with Sedona

Once a basement is protected from flooding, the last step is to remove water in the air. Water vapor might enter a home through the windows or tiny gaps in the walls. Once inside the water vapor might make the air feel damp and uncomfortable. The moisture might also condense on cooler surfaces like the walls or air ducts, where it might then drip down onto the floor below.

To stop this from happening, Woods Basement Systems recommends the Sedona dehumidifier. The Sedona can wring over 12 gallons of water out of the air in a single day - and it uses the same amount of power as dehumidifiers that dry less than half as well! The Sedona will not only dry the air, but filter out particles as well. Things like mold spores and dust mite droppings can make the air uncomfortable and unhealthy for residents, but the Sedona will pull them out of the air.

With the Sedona dehumidifier, basement air will be dry and clean, making the basement a comfortable space that the homeowner can really use.
