Water kept getting into Janice E.’s crawl space of her Philo, IL home. It leaked into the crawlspace through the cement block foundation walls and made her crawl space completely unusable so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended encapsulating her crawl space.
CleanSpace was installed as part of the encapsulation system. It is a durable, thick plastic moisture barrier that is installed over the foundation walls and gravel floors of the crawl space. It prevents moisture from entering the crawlspace, instead directing it down to the perimeter drainage system. It contains an additive called UltraFresh that makes it mold resistant. It’s bright white so, besides giving the crawl space a much cleaner appearance, it maximizes available light.
Homeowners Jim and Robin F. of Grayville, Illinois needed a solution for their damp, dirty crawl space. Over the years, the space had become a mess, sending unwanted smells into their home above. After consulting a neighbor, they made a call to Woods Basement Systems. Foreman Jesse C. and his team were able to encapsulate the crawl space using our CleanSpace liner. This transformed the crawl space into a dry, bright usable area beneath their home.
Homeowners in Rantoul, IL had moisture in their crawl space and needed it sealed. Woods Basement Systems installed the CleanSpace Basement Wall System and SmartSump into their crawl space. CleanSpace provides a vapor barrier for the walls and floor around the crawl space to drain wall leaks and stop the water vapor from permeating the walls. The barrier also adds a clean and bright atmosphere to the crawl space. SmartSump is a drainage system that the water is directed to and pumps the water out of the home. The homeowners were happy with their sealed, clean, and dry crawl space for years to come!
An unprotected crawlspace is a serious issue that can affect the health and comfort of your entire home. Damp crawlspaces allow moldy air to circulate throughout the house, and encourage mold growth to spread upward. Leaving a crawlspace unprotected will also let cold air seep into living spaces. Encapsulating your crawlspace helps prevent these problems, creating a safer, healthier indoor environment. At Woods, our team provides a reliable pump and encapsulation system designed to keep your crawlspace dry and protect your home for years to come.
A crawlspace in Sidney, IL, was unstable and needed to be addressed. This was causing distress to the homeowner, so they decided to give Woods a call. To solve this issue, SmartJack™ was used. These steel anchors will help stabilize the crawlspace and can even be tightened over time, ensuring the area remains safe to use. With this system in place, the homeowner can rest easy knowing their crawlspace is in great shape.
