Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab, then the PolyLevel polymer is poured into the holes. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on. This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive and arguably more effective than mud jacking which is the procedure PolyLevel replaces. To removed tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling estimate contact us today!

WaterGuard and CleanSpace Resolve Hidden Leaks in East Alton, IL

Al P. of East Alton, IL had a waterproofing system. It didn’t extend throughout his entire finished basement, however, so he was getting leaks behind his finished walls. The wood frames and walls were water damaged and rotting so he called Woods Basement Systems. After Design Specialist Brandon B. inspected the basement, he found that the best solution for the hidden leaks would be to extend the waterproofing system to the entire basement.

Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation walls. CleanSpace is a thick, durable plastic moisture barrier that prevents moisture from entering the basement, instead directing it down to the perimeter drainage system below. It’s mold resistant and also gives the basement a much brighter and cleaner appearance.

Woods extended the interior drainage system with WaterGuard. WaterGuard is installed under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard sits on top of the concrete footing so it won’t be clogged by silt and debris as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump already in place for removal.

Al P is glad that he’s finally taken care of his water problem and he no longer has to deal with hidden leaks.

Keeping the Heat Inside in East Alton, IL

Eric was unhappy with how his home seemed especially cold during the winter.  He didn’t want to use space heaters forever to maintain his comfort level.  He needed a permanent solution to this on going problem.  When he called Dr. Energy Saver he was impressed with the knowledge and the willingness to help him and make sure the problem is fix permanently.  Jake Hurst, the contractor, explained to Eric that the best way to warm up his house was to air seal with foam.  By doing this, the foam would reduce air infiltration, conductive heat transfer, humidity and dryness, improve indoor air quality and reduce entry points for insects and other pests.  Eric couldn’t say no to all these benefits so he went for the deal and now lives in his home much warmer.

Woods sent out a crew to inspect the area and created a proposal for the resident.  Woods suggested installing a SuperSump sump pump and redoing the TrenchDrain in the garage.  The resident agreed that purchasing those products would increase the value of his home and chose to go through with the installations.

The SuperSump worked nicely in the garage because it resisted clogging and could pump up to ½” solids.  The customer was very pleased with the effectiveness and reliability of the SuperSump and gave Woods a 10 out of 10 rating for keeping his garage dry.

One of the problems was radon, and she is trying to decide whether to cancel the contract or not because the sellers will not agree to take care of the radon problem. She would like to know what the average cost is for radon removal before she proceeds with this contract. Thank you.

Vicinity of Rhondell in East Alton
Failure to make corrective action. It has come to my attention that you have failed to stand by your product and correct an improper installation of a basement waterproofing system that was installed. In 2003 you installed basement waterproofing system with a sump pump into a house in Collinsville. The concrete work looked very well done. However, you also tied the sump pump into the sewer discharge leaving the house via a haphazard piping assembly. Unknown to the current owner, this was against the city ordinances and was not allowed under then-current building codes. Fast forward to present, and the same owner is now selling their house and a building inspection has brought up the point of the misrouted sump pump discharge. The owner has contacted you alerting you that you have failed to properly install the system initially. Yet the response from Woods was that it is no longer your responsibility if a system was installed in a way that is not compliant with the local codes and ordinances. This is resulting in the current owner paying to repair your shoddy craftsmanship. It is a cowardly act to hide behind the ignorance of your customer. I urge you to reconsider your position in this matter. In the future, I will discourage people from using Woods basement systems citing this example that the company does not support its clients after the sale. Thank you, Jim
