This cracked house was experiencing settlement that affected the cement inside and outside, including the sidewalk! To reinforce the unstabilized home, push piers were installed in the footing to lift the foundation back into its original place.
Support posts were failing in a basement in Lebanon, IL, causing the floors above to sink. To solve this issue, the SmartJack System was installed. These are steel support systems that can permanently stabilize and level the floor joists and girders in a basement. These add strength and stability to the existing piers. They are unaffected by moisture, as they will not rust, weaken, or be affected by mold. These will lift the floors above back toward their original position, reduce floor “bounce” caused by excessive joist spans, and solve the problem once and for all!
A foundation was bowing inward in Chester, Il, causing a large horizontal crack to appear. To solve this issue, the PowerBrace System was installed. This will permanently stabilize the foundation and eliminate any further inward movement. This will also reverse the effects of wall failure, straightening the walls to their original position and closing the cracks to prevent water leakage. This foundation will remain stable and restore peace of mind for years to come!
Kent and Susan T. of Gillespie, IL were worried about the ledge wall they had in their basement. It was bowing inward and cracked which allowed water to get into the basement so they called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors alongside a basement waterproofing system.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along the ledge wall to counteract external soil pressure on the wall that was damaging it. Earth anchors were embedded in stable soil in the yard and connected to wall plates on the inside of the ledge wall with galvanized steel anchor rods. This permanently stabilizes the wall and can even straighten the wall over time by tightening the rods during dry periods.
Kent and Susan T were concerned when they noticed that their basement walls were beginning to bow. So, they decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Brenton K was able to come up with a solution to the problem.
Foreman Juan H installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor, shown above, in Kent and Susan’s basement. The Anchor has two ends, one will attach to a stable level of soil away from the house. The other end will attach to the basement wall. The device can be tightened and overtime will straighten the walls.
