A foundation in St. Louis was shifting from its original location due to settlement. Push Piers were installed to help the foundation move back towards its original location and narrow gaps and cracks.
Having a large sump pump pit with a single pump is not enough to keep your basement dry all the time. For this St. Louis, Missouri basement, we installed our TripleSafe® sump pump system, which has three pumps. One is a battery backup sump pump. It also has a sealed lid, radon safe floor drain in the lid for condensation lines, high water alarm which can be designed to notify you on a smart device or home security system, and pump stands for elevating one of the other two pumps to alternate when they would run and pump water out of the basement.
This St. Louis, Missouri basement didn't have any form of waterproofing or a sump pump. Woods Basement Systems installed an UltraSump and WaterGuard. WaterGuard is unique in that it is installed on the footing of the home which prevents it from clogging with dirt. (please note that the concrete in the after picture had not had time to cure prior to the taking of the picture)
Woods Basement Systems came into this St. Louis, Missouri home to install a new sump pump. Woods Basement Systems offers various waterproofing options including WaterGuard. WaterGuard is unique in that it sits on top of the footing of a home which prevents it from becoming clogged with dirt and mud.
Waterproofing around a fireplace takes experience. Several times the fireplace in the basement is built off the floor and is not on its own footing. In this case, the fireplace was built on its own footing so water was coming in at the seam where the side of the fireplace met the floor. We were able to place our WaterGuard® basement waterproofing system right next to the fireplace taking care of this wet basement.
