In Champaign, Illinois homeowner Dan N. wanted a way to seal the crawlspace in his home. He began to notice that the floor above the crawlspace was sinking in and a smell coming from the space. He heard from a friend who had gotten his crawlspace sealed and waterproofed by Woods Basement Systems that he is now able to use the space for storage and it no longer effects the home above. Because of this, Dan finally decided to call Woods.
We sent our foreman Dwayne M. and his team out to the home to seal the crawlspace once and for all. They used our patented CleanSpace liner, which is a thick durable liner (similar to a pool liner) to cover the flooring and walls of crawlspace. Now, Dan has peace of mind knowing his crawlspace is sealed and waterproofed.
A crawlspace was not insulated properly in Champaign, IL, and moisture was entering it, creating a damp environment and allowing mold to grow. To solve all these issues, SilverGlo Insulation was first installed. This features a radiant barrier infused with graphite, so the heat is reflected into the crawlspace, saving energy. Next, the CleanSpace Encapsulation System was installed. This will completely isolate the crawlspace from the earth, dramatically reducing the humidity level. This will also eliminate mold growth and make the whole house healthier. The white finished side will brighten the crawlspace and allow one to see inside easily. Thanks to these systems, this crawlspace will remain dry and clean for years to come!
A crawlspace in Tolono, IL, was struggling against the humidity, as well as holding up the weight of the house. To solve the humidity issue, CleanSpace™ was used. This highly durable liner will keep the humidity, as well as other outside elements, out of the crawlspace. Next, SmartJack™ was used to help support the crawlspace. These custom cut steel beams will help distribute the weight and can be tightened over time. With these systems in place, the homeowner can rest assured that their crawlspace is in great shape!
In Tolono, Illinois homeowners Jon and Aimee E. wanted a solution to their damp and smelly crawlspace. Like many other homeowners, they didn’t have much insulation in their crawlspace, causing damp and musty air in from the exposed earth to enter their crawlspace, and eventually their home. Unsure of what to do, they called Woods Basement Systems to find the perfect solution to their crawlspace problem.
We sent our foremen Justin Gunn and his team out to their home to seal their crawlspace from the earth, using several of our products including UltraSump, CleanSpace, and Vent Covers. Once the crawlspace is completely sealed, these homeowners will have a dry, clean space to store items and not have to worry about their home smelling like their crawlspace.
Scott, a Tolono, Illinois homeowner, was worried about standing water in his crawl space. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Greg B. developed a plan to get his crawl space sealed and dry.
Foreman James L. and his crew installed the crawl space system of CleanSpace with drainage matting, a SmartSump sump pump with IceGuard and Lawnscape Well.
The core of this system is the CleanSpace with drainage matting is an inorganic, anti-microbial vapor barrier. It is designed to catch the water vapor from the dirt and that comes through the porous walls. The drainage matting then provides a path to redirect the collected vapor to the sump pump. It also will fight mold by cutting of the food source for the spores.
The SmartSump sump pump is the perfect size for a crawl space. It pumps any collected water from the basement through a discharge line away from the home.
The IceGuard on the discharge line gives a release if the line becomes clogged or freezes. The Lawnscape Outlet goes at the end of the discharge line. It is designed to blend into the grass around it and lower risk of trip injury or landscaping problems.
Removing the standing water is essential to getting healthy air in the home. It will also protect the woods and other surfaces throughout the crawl space. Scott now has a safe and dry crawl space he can be proud of.
