The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab, then the PolyLevel polymer is poured into the holes. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on. This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive and arguably more effective than mud jacking which is the procedure PolyLevel replaces. To removed tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel. Mark and Vickie of Edwardsville, Illinois were tired of dealing with their loud, totally ineffective sump pump. It did not do its job well at all, causing water to flood into their basement. They wanted the problem taken care of as soon as possible, so they called Woods Basement Systems.
Foreman Kevin and his team began their job by removing the couple's old sump pump. They then installed a brand new TripleSafe sump system. Equipped with three independently operating pumps, one of which is a battery backup, and capable of removing well over 10,000 gallons of water per hour at an 8 foot head, the TripleSafe is truly the king of home sump pumps. Mark and Vickie could not be more satisfied with the upgrade!
Dave W. of Edwardsville, IL was very concerned with his concrete-block basement walls. Over time, they had become riddled with large horizontal cracks and begun to bow inward noticeably. He worried that, if left unchecked, the walls might eventually fall in. Wanting expert help, Dave gave Woods Basement Systems a call.
Design specialist Nolan visited Dave's home, inspected the walls, and worked with him to determine the best solution for the problem. He decided that several GeoLock wall supports would be the best option. A Woods team installed several of these supports, connecting heavy anchors buried deep in the firm soil far from the foundation with steel plates affixed to the interior surface of the basement walls. Over time, GeoLock supports effectively pull the walls outward and straighten them. Dave couldn't be happier!
Lindsay of Edwardsville, Illinois wanted to get a professional's opinion on the best products to permanently waterproof her flooded basement. Lindsay's basement was finished, and she wanted to protect the investment she made on the space. She decided to schedule an appointment with Team Woods to see what the best solution would be for her basement needs.
Lindsay was recommended WaterGuard drains along with a TripleSafe sump pump. Her basement did have a sump pump, but upon inspection the sump pump was outdated. WaterGuard drains would be installed in the perimeter of the basement to direct water leaks towards the sump pump, and the TripleSafe sump pump will pump the water leaks back outside. Steve gave the recommendation of installing WaterGuard drains into the footing of the basement walls to collect water leaks and a TripleSafe sump pump to discard of the collected water. Along the walls, a CleanSpace encapsulation system would be installed to create a vapor barrier to prevent water from damaging the walls. The IceGuard will ensure all water taken out of the home by the sump pump will filter out. An IceGuard is an extension of the discharge line that makes sure the line is never clogged due to freezing.

The walls are stabilized and will not move any further in the future. They are also adjustable which gives the homeowner the opportunity to straighten the walls by tightening the PowerBraces during dry months. WaterGuard was installed under the concrete floors against the chimney wall. It sits on top of the footing so it won’t get clogged with mud and collects water leaking in from the walls and floors of the basement. It drains the water away to the sump pump.
The TripleSafe sump pump system was installed as well. It has three pumps: a primary pump, a secondary pump and a battery back up pump. Should the primary pump fail or be unable to keep up with the rising waters, the secondary pump will take over and if there’s a power outage, the battery back up pump will ensure water is still being pumped out of the basement. The water is pumped through the discharge lines and into the yard. On the discharge lines, IceGuards were installed. IceGuards provide an alternative escape route through it’s slotted holes if the discharge lines become frozen or clogged.
