This Imperial, Missouri basement remained unfinished and was primarily used for storage until Spring 2020. The homeowners worked with our Total Basement Finishing Design Specialist, Frank Unger, to layout an all-new floorplan for the basement. And that's when the transformation began.
These homeowners had already put down their own flooring, but wanted to have the walls done as well. Our specialist knew wood studs, fiberglass insulation, and drywall can spell disaster in the event of a leak or high humidity. So, Woods Basement Systems framed the basement with metal studs and finished the walls with the inorganic EverLast Basement Wall Panels, made from 2 1/2-inch thick rigid foam insulation with 1/2-inch thick cement board cladding. The cement board is finished with an off-white vinyl surface treatment.
What was once a cold, bare, and dark unfinished basement used only for storage is now a beautifully-finished, warm, and bright basement playroom and sewing room. What a transformation!
Water was entering a window well in Imperial, MO, and weeds were growing inside of it. The homeowners wanted to replace it altogether, so the SunHouse Basement Window Enclosure was installed. This system gives an attractive, bright, and clean solution that keeps rain out, prevents weeds from growing inside, and reflects natural light into the basement. This will make a dramatic difference inside and outside the home and will restore peace of mind for years to come!
In Festus, Missouri homeowner Pam H. was worried about the water problems in her basement. For years, she had been checking and cleaning the basement every time it would storm or rain. The rainwater was entering their home where the basement floor meets the basement wall, sending water to damage and ruin any items stored in the space.
Our team was sent out to the home by our System Design Specialist Ben Wiedman to install solutions to waterproof Pam’s basement. In order to waterproof the basement, they installed our WaterGuard and TripleSafe systems. WaterGuard is our premiere interior drainage system, catching the water before it can enter the home. TripleSafe is our sump pump system, collecting the water and sending it out of the home quicker than it could enter.
Barbara G. of Festus, MO had an old, rusted sump pump sitting in a hazardous open-faced pit that was doing little to nothing to keep the encroaching water out during bad weather. The belongings she had stored in the basement were threatened each time there was rain so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing a waterproofing system.
As part of the waterproofing system, Woods replaced the nonfunctioning pump in the open pit with the TripleSafe Sump System. The TripleSafe contains three pumps within its closed sump liner: a primary, a secondary and a battery back up pump. This ensures that even if the primary pump fails or the power goes out, water will continue to be pumped out of the basement and the basement will remain dry.
Barbara G. of Festus, MO had a very leaky basement. Every time it rained, water would get in and damage her belongings and foster mold growth so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing a waterproofing system.
Part of the waterproofing system was the WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. As shown in the picture, it's installed under the concrete floors, along the foundation walls. It will remain free of mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and take it to the sump pump for removal.
