Inside the Basement
Once inside, Team Woods noticed several areas where water damage had developed.
Old Sump Pump
The home's current sump pump was very outdated and unable to keep up with the amount of water that would seek inside. This unfortunately allowed water to created damage on the walls of the basement.
Cracking by Window
The cracking by the window indicates settlement in the foundation. This crack was caused by continuous exposure to water leaks, primarily through this basement window.
Exterior
Before renovations took place, this was what the basement window looked like on the outside. Team Woods would soon replace this window cover by turning the basement window into a Sunhouse window well.
Overview
Here is an overview of the new waterproofing products for this Freeburg, Illinois basement.
Sunhouse Window Well
Just look at the difference! This basement window now has a sealed cover to keep water outside where it belongs. This cover also will allow more natural light into the basement.
Exterior Sump
This outer sump pump will help direct water outside and away from the house. Since this basement has had a history of water leaks inside, this sump pump will provide the ultimate solution because it will prevent water from standing around the home.
More Protection
Connected to the exterior sump pump is a LawnScape outlet. This outlet will take the water collected by the pump and will direct it into the yard and away from the house.
